Dedham and Westwood to Host 2nd Annual Green Fair May 15
Free Day of Information and Fun Planned for Citizens of All Ages
DEDHAM, MA and WESTWOOD, MA – (May 4, 2010) The Towns of Dedham and Westwood are hosting the 2nd Annual Dedham Westwood Green Fair on Saturday, May 15 at the Dedham Middle School. The purpose of this free event is to educate and engage local residents on the benefits of sustainability. The fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. rain or shine inside the LEED certifiable school at 70 Whiting Avenue in Dedham.
Fun and informative activities are planned for all age groups.
- Adults can meet and speak with vendors including Whole Foods, Borrego Solar, Blue Hills Observatory, Alteris, Green City Growers, Lululemon, Owens Corning, Prime Auto Group and Poirier.
- All residents can visit the Dedham Bike & Leather bike clinic and tour the LEED certifiable school
- Kids can plant seedlings with Dedham Civic Pride, learn about composting with Hale Reservation's Nature Jay and join story time with The Blue Bunny bookstore.
- How to Make your Home more Energy Efficient with Siemens Energy at 11 a.m.
- Green Gardening with Dedham resident Cory Alexandre, owner of Cory Landscaping at11:30
- Solar 101 with Westwood resident and solar expert Peter Kane at Noon.
